About YMN

Welcome! Discover YMN, our mission, our story, and the passionate, diverse individuals who make up the Young Mobility Network Team.

Our Mission

The Young Mobility Network (YMN) is the leading community for young professionals, students, and early-career talent in mobility. We believe the next generation has the power to shape the future of transport - smarter, greener, and more connected. YMN provides the platform to learn, connect, and grow together. Come and join us!

Who We Are

The Young Mobility Network (YMN) was founded in April 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, when many mobility events in Berlin came to a halt. What began as a way to stay connected has grown into one of the most vibrant platforms for young mobility talent.

Our Roots

YMN was founded by Anna, Kolja, Matthias, and Patrick — bringing together experience from InnoZ, the HPI D-School, and regional hub coordination. In 2024, Anna established YMN as a startup, laying the foundation for professional growth and structured expansion.

Our Growth

Since then, YMN has seen tremendous momentum:

  • 800+ members (a 286% increase within just one year)

  • 9 Regional Hubs active across Europe (with 3 new hubs founded since 2024) and more to come

  • 35 volunteers driving the network forward (with 19 new members joining in the last year)

Our Impact

YMN thrives on commitment and collaboration. We partner with leading organisations, join key mobility events, and expand our activities - all to connect young professionals, foster innovation, and empower the next generation of mobility leaders.

„The most exciting aspect of YMN for me is the blend of diverse disciplines and subject areas. Through exchanges and keynote presentations, I continuously gain fresh perspectives on the topic of mobility.“

Fabian Zimmer, former Regional Hub Manager Hamburg

„What truly ignites my enthusiasm for the Network is the opportunity to engage with fellow young enthusiasts passionate about mobility and the diverse array of topics within this field. Whether we're delving into sustainable aviation, autonomous driving, or emerging mobility platforms, each meeting offers fresh insights and the chance to forge valuable new connections.“

2020: The Year YMN Took Its First Step

This is our very first team photo, which was taken at the Prater Biergarden in Berlin back in summer 2021. After building our network exclusively online for over a year, it was a moment of pure joy when we could finally come together in person. It was truly amazing that over 20 individuals joined us for this historic first-ever meet-up.
