YMN on Bike 🚲 This summer, the Young Mobility Network took to the streets with three cycling excursions in Aachen, Berlin, and Munich. Instead of looking at mobility through data and theory, we experienced it directly — from the saddle, in the flow of the city. Each tour revealed how mobility shapes not only infrastructure, but also the identity, history, and livability of urban spaces.

A big step for YMN! Being selected as one of only four startups funded by the House of Logistics and Mobility (HOLM) has opened new doors for us. From expert mentoring to community events, partner connections, and our first office space — the past 6 months have been full of momentum.

What started as a digital exchange platform during the pandemic has grown into a thriving community of over 700 young mobility professionals in Germany — now taking its first steps across Europe.

The episode dives into more than just the origin story: Anna shares her personal journey, the challenges and successes of building the network, and why young voices matter more than ever in shaping the future of mobility.

We sat down with Gautam, one of the minds behind Urban Mobility Explained (UMX) – the open learning platform by EIT Urban Mobility – to get insights into mobility trends, professional growth, and how you can dive into this fast-moving sector. 

Lorenz Nitsch talks with Anna Filby and Max Beitler from the Young Mobility Network about how they bring together, support, and inspire young talent in the mobility sector. What started as a casual exchange during the home office days has now become a rapidly growing network and a unique hub for young professionals in mobility.

On November 19, 2024, a film screening followed by a panel discussion took place at the Frankfurt Kulturhaus on Ostendstraße, hosted by the Young Mobility Network in cooperation with Women in Mobility, Women in Cycling, Integrated Traffic and Mobility Management Region Frankfurt RheinMain (ivm), and House of Logistics and Mobility (HOLM) GmbH. The event aimed to introduce the topic of everyday mobility to a broader audience. The occasion provided an opportunity to speak with director Kristian Gründling.

We’re thrilled to unveil the story behind our new logo and corporate identity! Since our beginnings in 2020 as the Young Mobility Network (YMN), we’ve grown into a vibrant community of over 600 members across Germany and beyond. In the summer of 2024, we took the next big step and officially founded YMN as a company, setting the stage for even greater impact.

This exciting evolution inspired a fresh, modern identity that reflects who we are today and where we’re heading. To bring this vision to life, we partnered with  DID - DIEINFORMATIONSDESIGNER, a creative agency renowned for their expertise in impactful designs for public transport.
