YMN Hub Berlin – Where it all Began
Berlin, Our Founding Hub and Mobility Hotspot
The Young Mobility Network and its Berlin Hub started in 2020, during the height of the COVID pandemic, with the first meetups taking place online. In the summer of 2021, we finally met in person for the very first time at the Prater Biergarten — marking a special milestone in our journey as a network.

Since then, a lot has happened, and Germany’s capital remains a vibrant hotspot for all our activities. Over time, a dedicated team has grown around the hub: Yannick joined in early 2021 and became actively involved as Regional Hub Coordinator in early 2023. In 2025, Philipp and Sarah joined the Hub team, further strengthening our local presence and commitment to Berlin’s mobility scene.

Why Berlin? Because This City Makes Mobility Happen
As Germany’s capital, Berlin is a hotspot for politics, innovation, and the future of transportation. Here, new mobility ideas don’t just get talked about — they hit the streets.
With its mix of startups, industry players, and public institutions, Berlin offers endless ways to connect and collaborate. We bring together people who are passionate about shaping a more sustainable future of mobility.
The city hosts numerous events, conferences, and expos, and the Young Mobility Network is actively involved. But what makes us special are our regular meetups, informal spaces where real connections happen, ideas are shared, and collaborations begin.
What We Did in 2025 – A Year in Motion
We kicked off the year with a guided tour and pitch session at Drivery Berlin, the innovation and coworking center for mobility. Startups, companies, and freelancers from the sector come together here. We explored the latest mobility technologies, followed by food, drinks and good conversations. It was a great way to see what's happening in Berlin's startup scene and connect with people working on innovative projects.
Visiting the Drivery, April 2025
In summer, we organised a bike tour with Berlin on Bike, exploring the city from a different perspective. The theme was "15 minutes city", focusing on accessible urban mobility. Sometimes the best way to understand mobility is to experience it yourself. Plus, it's always fun to discover new corners of Berlin while enjoying good weather with like-minded people.
In autumn, we visited the ZEKI Center for Experiential AI and Digitalization, which focuses on AI for autonomous mobility. The highlight? A ride on Berlin's autonomous bus through city traffic, plus a guided tour of their work at Ernst-Reuter-Platz. It was fascinating to see how autonomous vehicles navigate real urban environments and to learn about the technology behind it.
We'll end 2025 with our traditional Christmas market visits, a chance to look back on the year and enjoy some time together.
